Kevin Hopkins is the founder and owner of Springfield Leather Company, a business he started after his own search for a guitar strap sparked a passion for leatherwork. He previously managed Tandy Leather stores for 25 years before purchasing a location in 1999 to launch his own brand, which has since grown into a major industry supplier.
Outside of work, Kevins hobbies are closely tied to his craft, including an interest in mineral rocks, fossils, and beadwork, which led to a sister business, Touchstone Beads. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and enjoys playing pool and working in his yard. The business is a family affair, involving his wife and children.
He started his entrepreneurial journey by making and selling leather guitar straps for his bandmates in the early 1970s.
