Dr. Kirsten Poehling-Monaghan is a board-certified Orthopedic Surgeon at Precision Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, specializing in sports-related injuries of the knee and shoulder. She earned her MD from George Washington University and completed her residency at the Mayo Clinic, followed by a sports medicine fellowship at the Rothman Institute.
Originally from Minnesota, Dr. Poehling-Monaghan has a deep understanding of the athletes experience, having been a competitive soccer player herself. Outside of her practice, she enjoys tennis, snowboarding, and spending time with her family, including her two young sons. Her past professional involvements include serving as an assistant team physician for several Philadelphia professional sports teams.
Unique fact: Before becoming a surgeon, she was a decorated Division I soccer player at Georgetown University.
