Co-Founder at Kortex

Matthew Ao is the Co-Founder and product lead at Kortex, a software company building a "second brain" app for knowledge workers. A University of Toronto graduate, he bootstrapped the company to over 80, 000 users without VC funding and leads product, design, and frontend development. His team won multiple awards at the 2023 UofT RBC Innovation Challenge.

Matthew is a strong advocate for taking calculated risks and forging a non-traditional path, a perspective shaped by his experience growing up with ADHD. He believes perceived risk is often greater than actual risk and that the potential upside of chasing your dreams is nearly unlimited, especially when you are young.

He has a substantial and specific list of allergies, including nuts, seafood, egg whites, soy, sesame seeds, and most raw fruits and vegetables.
