Melanie Searle Mills

Melanie Searle Mills is a Process Engineer at Gossner Foods, applying her biological engineering degree from Utah State University to the agriculture industry. She focuses on developing and improving food production techniques and holds an Engineer in Training certification to support her work in promoting sustainable strategies.

Growing up on a family farm in Southern Idaho, she developed a foundational passion for the industry that feeds and clothes the world. This background, combined with leadership skills from extracurriculars, drives her to advance sustainable farming and food processing methods in her career.

She researched and developed a synthetic plant growth media for the zero-gravity environment of space through a NASA-funded grant.
