Melissa Wanzer is an oncology survivorship manager with over 30 years of prior experience as a communications professor at Canisius College. Drawing on her Ph.D. in Communication, she now develops programs and services to help cancer patients and caregivers navigate their journey. She is a recognized patient advocate and award-winning educator.
As a cancer survivor herself, Melissa is deeply passionate about reducing the burden of cancer. This personal experience fuels her advocacy and her work in creating supportive programs, such as community education initiatives and improving resources for patients dealing with the physical and emotional challenges of treatment.
After a three-decade career in academia, Melissa transitioned to oncology care, inspired by her own journey as a patient.
