Michelle is a Senior Lecturer in Robotics and Biomedical Engineering at Swinburne University of Technology. She leads the universitys Space Robotics group and co-leads research at the Australian Cobotics Centre. Her work includes collaborative automation and developing solutions for Australias first lunar rover mission, tackling the challenge of abrasive lunar dust.
Outside of her academic work, Michelle is a passionate maker and creator with a focus on textiles. She approaches her creations with a mathematical and engineering mindset, enjoying the technical challenges of constructing complex textile art and costumes.
She leads the research team developing technology to protect Australias first lunar rover ("Roo-ver") from the highly abrasive and damaging dust on the Moons surface.
