Michelle Ruiz is a chemical engineer and the CEO & Founder of Hyfé. Leveraging nearly a decade of experience in process engineering and project execution at ExxonMobil, she now leads Hyfé in transforming food processing waste into valuable chemicals to replace petroleum. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University.
Michelles pivot from the oil and gas industry was deeply personal, motivated by a desire to improve health outcomes after her mother was diagnosed with pre-diabetes. As an immigrant from Ecuador, she is passionate about creating healthier, low-carb food alternatives and disrupting male-dominated industries like manufacturing and deep tech.
Inspired by her familys health history, she founded Hyfé to make nutritious, sustainable food more accessible.
