Robert Nordling is an acclaimed conductor, serving as Music Director for multiple organizations including the Baroque on Beaver Island Music Festival and as Music Director Emeritus of the Bandung Philharmonic in Indonesia. His energetic conducting style has been described as "emphatic" and "vivid. " He is also a dedicated educator, leading conducting workshops internationally.
Beyond the podium, Robert has a wide range of interests including liturgical music, Arthurian literature, science fiction, and furniture-making. He is passionate about making classical music a communal experience and has held music ministry positions in the US and England, demonstrating a deep connection between his faith and his art.
He received a Fulbright Scholarship to help develop conducting talent in Indonesia, co-founding the countrys Bandung Philharmonic orchestra.
