D. from the University of Utah, his career includes serving as Dean at the Moore School, a long tenure at Cornell University, and founding a new international university.
He has a distinct international perspective, shaped by launching a university in Vietnam and leading educational initiatives in Asia and Africa. This global focus is complemented by a multi-disciplinary approach, actively collaborating with colleagues across various fields. He has an interest in the work of the United Nations.
As the founding Provost of VinUniversity in Vietnam, he built the countrys first private, not-for-profit university based on international standards in collaboration with Cornell and the University of Pennsylvania.
