Romain Sepehr Vakilitabar is the founder of Pathos Labs, an organization dedicated to using media and technology to shift cultural narratives and combat prejudice. He connects Hollywood storytellers with leading experts through the PopShift initiative to inspire more nuanced, prosocial content. He is also a Research Fellow at Stanford Universitys Polarization and Social Change Lab.
To better understand different perspectives, Romain has undertaken immersive personal projects, including living with conservative farmers in Oklahoma, hitchhiking thousands of miles to test the generosity of strangers, and spending time in Palestine and Israel to understand the emotional dynamics of the conflict. He identifies as a first-generation Middle Eastern American.
He received the "Erase the Hate" fellowship from NBCUniversal for his work in using media to dismantle hatred.
