Sai Krupa Das is a Professor at the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University and a Senior Scientist at the HNRCA. Her research focuses on energy metabolism, obesity, body weight regulation, calorie restriction, and the nutritional modulation of aging. She received her PhD in Human Nutrition from Tufts University.
Dr. Das has a deep interest in community-based interventions to address the obesity epidemic, having designed and conducted clinical trials for diverse populations, including employees at worksites and socio-economically challenged groups. She is an active member of the American Society for Nutrition and The Obesity Society.
She is the Principal Investigator for the long-term follow-up of the landmark CALERIE™ trial, the first large randomized controlled trial of calorie restriction in humans.
