His work focuses on integrating natural capital into policy and practice to benefit human well-being. He earned his PhD in Animal Zoology from Lund University.
Sebastian is a passionate wildlife photographer and took a career sabbatical to immerse himself in tropical nature to pursue this interest. During this time, he also dedicated himself to learning about AI and Large Language Models, reflecting a curiosity for technologys role in conservation and beyond.
Unique fact: He co-developed the Ocean Health Index, a comprehensive framework adopted by more than 25 countries to assess the state of their marine ecosystems.
