Thomas Both is a design leader and educator at the Stanford d. school, where he directs the Designing for Social Systems program. With a background from Stanford and Harvey Mudd College, he focuses on applying human-centered design to complex social challenges, leveraging over a decade of experience.
Outside of academia, Thomas is a creator and entrepreneur. He founded a design company, inventing and launching a ceramic dining piece called the ooma bowl. He enjoys traveling with his family and has a passion for fostering creative work in others.
He has successfully designed and licensed five of his ceramic products to the major retailer Uncommon Goods.
