Thomas Imbler

As Vice President of Commercial Operations at Xcel Energy, Thomas Imbler was responsible for wholesale energy transactions, managing a team of around 115 professionals. With a background including an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Wichita State University, he focused on integrating renewable resources and improving the companys environmental footprint before retiring in April 2020.

Thomas had a passion for history, world travel, hiking, skiing, and cooking. He valued personal relationships with his team and their families. He was known by colleagues as a "leader of the people" who had a warm smile and a good sense of humor.

He served as a Director for the Western Electric Coordinating Council (WECC), contributing to the operational reliability of the Western U. S. power grid.
