Tyrone Ellen serves as the Regional Vice President for the Northeast Division of Chartwells Higher Education. A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, his career is built on a foundation of culinary expertise, including time as an Executive Chef, before he advanced through progressive leadership roles within higher education dining.
He is focused on enhancing the student dining experience by keeping up with broad industry food trends, such as the rising popularity of ramen and soba, and by educating students on healthy food choices. His team regularly conducts surveys to gather direct feedback on student preferences and top food choices.
He once directed all culinary operations for the Prudential Center, home of the NJ Devils, during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
