Alexander Olesen is the CEO and Co-Founder of Buckstop, an urban mining intelligence firm for the circular economy, focusing on solar, BESS, and EV assets. He previously founded Babylon Micro-Farms, a leading vertical farming technology company he started at the University of Virginia. He was also named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list.
Originally from the UK, Alexander grew up on a family farm, which gave him a firsthand perspective on food systems and sustainability. This experience shaped his career, leading him to found his first company as a student to address agricultural challenges and later tackle environmental issues with his current venture, Buckstop.
He is a two-time TEDx speaker, where he has shared his vision on the future of sustainable agriculture and vertical farming.
