Alexis Newman
Login to view DISC.Dr. Alexis Newman is the Owner Veterinarian of Partners and Paws Veterinary Services, a practice dedicated to police and working K-9s. A graduate of Iowa State University with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, she is also a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner and serves as the Team Veterinarian for the IL-TF 1 Urban Search and Rescue Team.
Her passion for service animals led her to co-found and preside over MARK-9 ("Medical Assistance for Retired K-9s"), a non-profit that provides financial assistance for the medical care of retired working dogs. She is a recognized expert in the field, often teaching K-9 trauma care and speaking at national conferences.
Unique fact: Dr. Newman provides care to over 150 K-9s from more than 100 Chicagoland agencies, often on-site from a mobile animal hospital converted from a retired ambulance.
