Bill Baumel is the Managing Director of the Ohio Innovation Fund, a firm he founded to apply his 20+ years of Silicon Valley venture capital experience to the Midwest. He focuses on scaling startups in sectors like Generative AI, cybersecurity, and life sciences. He holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Outside of his professional life, Bill is deeply connected to his community and university roots. He is involved in youth sports as a basketball commissioner for a local athletic association. A graduate of both Ohio State and Michigan, he has noted that the Rose Bowl is an annual family event, one way or the other.
