Charlie Johnson

With over 25 years in genomics, he leads one of the worlds foremost agriculture-focused sequencing centers. Holding a Ph. D. from Texas A&M, hes recognized for establishing impactful research service organizations.
He grew up on a farm and has a family history in agriculture dating back to the 1800s, which deeply influenced his career path. Described as a "phenomenal mentor" and "great to work with, " he values fostering collaborations that grow out of scientific meetings.
His research center was distinguished as a Center of Excellence by PerkinElmer in both 2019 and 2024.
