His research investigates the links between obesity, diabetes, and cancer progression, particularly focusing on the endocrine role of adipose tissue and insulin resistance. He earned his Ph. D. from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
He is deeply committed to education, creating new elective courses and research rotations for medical students and fellows.
