Dimiter Avtanski is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Endocrine Research Laboratory at the Friedman Diabetes Institute. His research investigates the links between obesity, diabetes, and cancer progression, particularly focusing on the endocrine role of adipose tissue and insulin resistance. He earned his Ph. D. from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
