Dr. Shashikala Gurpur is the Director of Symbiosis Law School, Pune, and Dean of the Faculty of Law. A Fulbright Scholar with a Ph. D. in International Law from the University of Mysore, she is a recognized expert in human rights, feminist legal studies, and international law, and has served as a member of the Law Commission of India.
Described as a passionate researcher and distinguished orator, she is also a toastmaster. She views her work as a service to humanity and has been recognized with numerous awards for her contributions to legal education and womens empowerment. She has co-authored multiple books and published over 70 research papers.
She was awarded the prestigious Jean Monnet Chair, becoming the first woman in India in the field of law to receive this honor.
