Edward Buttery

Edward Buttery leads as the CEO of both Taylor Maritime Investments, which he founded, and Grindrod Shipping. He is an expert in the geared dry bulk shipping sector, continuing a family legacy in the industry. His professional qualifications include a Masters degree from CASS Business School and Chinese Studies at the University of Oxford.

Shipping is a deep-seated personal passion for Edward, inherited from his father, the founder of Pacific Basin. He named his company, Taylor Maritime, as a nod to his wife and is keen on passing the tradition to his children by taking them aboard ships whenever possible.

After leaving university, he pursued a decade-long self-teaching regime in shipping and persistently campaigned for his spot at Cass Business School until he was accepted.
