Emira Ayroldi is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the University of Perugia, where she also earned her degree in Medicine and Surgery. Her research is concentrated on the pharmacological modulation of the immune system, with a specific focus on the molecular mechanisms of glucocorticoids in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
Her work has significantly advanced the understanding of glucocorticoid-induced proteins, particularly the Glucocorticoid-Induced Leucine Zipper (GILZ), as a key mediator of their anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects.
