Dr. Greg Sweat is the Senior Vice President and Chief Health Officer at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City, overseeing population health and care delivery. A physician leader, he is recognized for building Spira Care, an innovative primary care model, from the ground up. He earned his M. D. from The University of Kansas.
Deeply invested in his community, Greg serves as the incoming board chair for the United Way of Greater Kansas City. He is actively involved with numerous local health and civic organizations, including BioNexus KC, and has co-chaired fundraising events for Childrens Mercy Hospital and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
He spearheaded the development of Spira Care, a combined care and coverage model, growing it from a concept to serving over 60, 000 members with a Net Promoter Score of 86.
