Ida Sim is a digital health and data sharing researcher, practicing primary care physician, and Professor at UCSF and UC Berkeley. She directs the UCSF UC Berkeley Joint Program in Computational Precision Health, focusing on integrating medicine, statistics, and computation. She holds a PhD and MD from Stanford University and did her residency at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Sim is passionate about using digital technologies to improve patient care and making medical data more open and shareable. She is a global leader in the policy and technology of large-scale health data sharing and speaks Cantonese.
She co-founded two non-profits: Open mHealth, which creates open standards for mobile health data, and Vivli, the worlds largest data-sharing platform for clinical trial data.
