An expert in subtropical and exotic fruit farming for over 25 years, he is dedicated to establishing Southern California as a premier specialty coffee region through innovative, organic, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Jays interest in sustainable agriculture began at age 17 and evolved into a passion for crop diversification and layered agriculture systems, interplanting coffee with crops like avocados and passionfruit. He enjoys sharing his knowledge by providing farm tours and helping other farmers adopt new, resilient crops and growing techniques.
He has successfully cultivated dozens of exotic fruit species that were previously thought impossible to grow in Californias climate.
