Lateefah Collingwood is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing, leveraging over 30 years of experience in the field. Her career is fueled by a dual passion for nursing and education, progressing from a Nurse Practitioner and hospital education director to academia. She holds a PhD from the University of Phoenix.
Originally from the U. S. Virgin Islands, Lateefah was drawn to healthcare by a desire to help people, viewing herself as a natural nurturer. Her teaching philosophy is centered on experiential learning and creating engaging environments for students to have "Aha" moments. She emphasizes approaching healthcare from a place of empathy.
Her doctoral dissertation focused on the perspectives of nursing leaders regarding their responsibility for patient safety.
