Lauren Hilliard

Lauren Hilliard is a dedicated Elementary School Principal at KIPP DC with extensive experience in charter school leadership in both Washington, D. C. , and California. A graduate of American Universitys Master of Education program, she focuses on fostering positive school cultures and creating culturally responsive classrooms where all students feel valued and supported.

Originally from the D. C. area, Lauren is passionate about serving the community she calls home, with family roots going back generations in Anacostia. She began her career as a DC Teaching Fellow and has since committed herself to creating joyful and consistent learning environments where families are treated as true partners.

Her leadership philosophy is centered on the themes of joy and community, with her schools guiding principle for the year being "It Takes a Village. "
