Laurie Hughes is a Director with over 30 years of dedicated experience in the waste management industry. He holds professional certifications in road haulage and hazardous material transfer, overseeing operations at Basingstoke Skip Hire & Southern Waste Management and focusing on long-term business investments, like recently built workshops.

Outside of work, Laurie demonstrates a strong commitment to humanitarian causes. He has actively organized and funded aid missions, including sending multiple articulated lorries and vans with supplies to support relief efforts for the crisis in Ukraine, highlighting a passion for helping others in need.

After more than 31 years in his role, he still maintains a mindset of learning something new every day.
