A Fellow of both INFORFORMS and MORS, he was formerly the Chief Scientist for Cyber Operations Research at The MITRE Corporation and holds a Ph. D. from Harvard University.
Deeply committed to mentorship and service, Les has dedicated over four decades to his profession, notably mentoring students from low-income backgrounds and serving on multiple advisory boards. His work is driven by a desire to solve complex national security problems and make the world safer.
He is the co-recipient of the 2025 George E. Kimball Medal, INFORMS highest service award.
