Major General (Retired) Walt Lord is the Vice President for Military and Veterans Affairs at Austin Peay State University. A 36-year Army veteran, he is a dedicated leader and team builder focused on advocating for military-affiliated students. He holds a Masters degree from The United States Army War College and is an experienced executive-level leader.
Outside of his official duties, he and his wife, Grace, volunteer at the Fort Campbell USO. He extends his commitment to service by sitting on the boards of several non-profits, including Operation Stand Down Tennessee and Warrior Rising. Both of his sons are also Army officers, making military service a multi-generational family commitment.
He once commanded NATO Headquarters Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
