Martin de Vries is a result-driven Chief Information Security Officer at VDL Groep and a nominee for the CISO of the Year Award 2025. He has an extensive background in security innovation, service management, and leading change in international environments, with degrees from Saxion and Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
He is passionate about fostering innovation by mentoring startups and scale-ups in the FinTech, AgriFood, and Cyber Security sectors through programs at Rockstar and Startupbootcamp. Martin actively contributes to the broader security community by sharing knowledge and collaborating with other CISOs in the Eindhoven region.
He is a two-time speaker at the upcoming COSAC Security Conference 2026 and recently gave a keynote on the lessons learned from the TU/e cyber-attack.
