He is the first to rise to this rank via the Seaman to Admiral program and now serves as a strategic advisor and a Senior Fellow at CNA Corporation, specializing in national security and innovation. He earned both bachelors and masters degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School.
Inspired by his older brother, Matthews singular focus became joining the Navy SEALs. He was drawn to the unique satisfaction of working within an elite, cohesive team, a principle that has guided his distinguished career and leadership philosophy.
Unique fact: Matthew was the first person to rise from an enlisted Navy SEAL to the rank of Rear Admiral through the Navy’s Seaman to Admiral Program.
