Outside of his corporate work, Matthew is a published historian focusing on the modern Middle East and the host of "The Looking Glass, " a podcast that blends true crime with historical analysis. He is also a former musician, having been the frontman for the rock band The Autumns and a member of several other musical projects.
He conducted archival research in three languages on three different continents for his book on the 1930s Palestine revolt.
