Michael Musumeci

Michael “Mikey” Musumeci is a world-renowned American submission grappler and a 3rd-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt. A five-time IBJJF World Champion, he was the inaugural ONE Flyweight Submission Grappling World Champion and is celebrated as the first American to win multiple IBJJF world titles at the black belt level, which he first earned at 18.

Of Italian descent, Michael is a known Star Wars fan, leading to his popular nickname, “Darth Rigatoni. ” He is a passionate advocate for mental health and shares a close bond with his sister, Tammi, who is also a BJJ world champion. He focuses his life purely on training and family, avoiding parties or drinking.

He is famous for his unconventional diet, eating just one large meal of pizza and pasta each night.
