Narayan Rao is the founder and Managing Director of Corner House, a beloved Bengaluru ice cream brand he established in 1982. With a background in Agricultural Science and a diploma in Hotel Management from Austria, he successfully pivoted the business from a fast-food joint into an iconic, exclusive ice cream parlour.
Originally from Delhi and the son of a naval officer, Narayan moved to Bengaluru in 1974 for his studies and developed a deep affection for the city. He is passionate about his work, viewing ice cream as a "happy product" that creates lasting memories for generations of patrons.
To visually market his sundaes, he initially used dummy scoops made from boiled potatoes and rice, dressed with real toppings in a custom glass-door freezer.
