Pengshan Cai

Pengshan Cai is an Applied Researcher at Capital One focusing on Large Language Models and agents. A PhD from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, he specializes in Natural Language Processing and has held research positions at ASAPP, Tencent AI Lab, and IBM.

Outside of his primary research, Pengshan has a creative side, enjoying making art with Python, cooking, writing lyrics, and creating music. He also has a notable interest in the generation of classical Chinese poetry from vernacular language.

He was part of a project to develop PaniniQA, an interactive question-answering system designed to help patients better understand their discharge instructions.
