Rhonda Lenton is the eighth President and Vice-Chancellor of York University, a role she has held since 2017. A sociologist by training with a PhD from the University of Toronto, her work focuses on driving positive change through community engagement, research innovation, and expanding experiential education.
She is a dedicated community leader with a deep commitment to social justice and equity, stemming from her activism during the second wave of feminism. She is a first-generation university student and has served on the boards of organizations like United Way Greater Toronto and Universities Canada.
