His work is deeply informed by his personal journey as a Filipino-Canadian immigrant and former Overseas Filipino Worker. This experience of migration and resilience fuels his passion for archiving diasporic, Indigenous, and other marginalized narratives, turning what began in a Calgary basement into a globally recognized institution.
