Ronnie Screwvala is a first-generation entrepreneur and the Chairperson & Co-Founder of upGrad, a leading online higher education company. A graduate of Sydenham College, his diverse career includes pioneering cable TV in India, founding the media conglomerate UTV (later sold to Disney), and establishing the venture firm Unilazer Ventures to invest in early-stage startups.
Outside of his business ventures, Ronnie is a passionate philanthropist. Alongside his wife, Zarina, he founded the Swades Foundation, which aims to empower one million people in rural India by focusing on health, education, water, and sanitation. He also has a keen interest in sports, owning teams in Kabaddi and Football.
