Rosanna Garcia, PhD
Login to view DISC.Dr. Rosanna Garcia is the Paul R. Beswick Endowed Chair of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. An accomplished academic, inventor, and entrepreneur, she co-founded the legal tech company Vijilent and now leads the i3-Lab, mentoring student and community startups with a focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive innovation ecosystem.
Dr. Garcia is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in STEM and entrepreneurship. She directs her efforts towards supporting women and racialized minority founders through her work and as an angel investor. Her recent research explores success factors for minority entrepreneurs and challenges systemic barriers in academia and business.
She co-founded her data science company, Vijilent, after sustaining $18, 000 in damages to her home from an Airbnb rental, turning a personal setback into an innovative venture.
