Ryosuke Okuno is a Professor in the Hildebrand Department of Petroleum & Geosystems Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. His research focuses on enhanced oil recovery, geologic carbon storage, reservoir simulation, and hydrogen energy. He earned his PhD in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.
He leads the Energi Simulation Industrial Affiliate Program on Carbon Utilization and Storage, a key initiative for developing sustainable energy solutions. He directs research into novel technologies like formate-based carbon carriers and integrated CO2 capture and conversion, collaborating closely with industry partners.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta, Canada, and holds the Pioneer Corporation Faculty Fellowship in Petroleum Engineering.
