Dr. Shaun Grannis is the Vice President of Data and Analytics at the Regenstrief Institute and a Professor of Family Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine. An internationally recognized expert in medical informatics, his research focuses on data integration, predictive modeling, and improving public health data infrastructure. He holds an undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering from MIT.
He has worked on developing and mentoring the next generation of health informaticians through various training programs. He has also been a vocal advocate, educating policymakers in Washington D.C. on the critical need for better patient record matching to ensure patient safety.
Unique fact: He was instrumental in designing Indiana’s Public Health Emergency Surveillance System, one of the first statewide biosurveillance systems in the U.S.
