Shawn is an avid traveler, having backpacked through Mexico and Central America, where he enjoyed scuba diving and hiking volcanoes. His adventures include volcano boarding in Nicaragua. He is now focused on a new academic pursuit, beginning a PhD in Accounting in September 2025 to further his research.
As a published academic scholar, his research uses econometric analysis to link financial data with socioeconomic outcomes in First Nation communities.
