Simon is a multidisciplinary drug discovery scientist and the Director of Therapeutic Discovery at the Chan Soon-Shiong Institute. A graduate of Newcastle University, he focuses on translational immunology and solid tumor biology. Colleagues often describe him as having world-leading knowledge, being an incredible mentor, and demonstrating transformational leadership.
His scientific career began with nearly two decades of research into HIV and antiviral design before he pivoted to immuno-oncology. He is a passionate advocate for continuous learning and recently completed an advanced immunology course. Simon is also an avid reader on the subject of deep-tech entrepreneurship.
He is the co-founder of an AI-driven mobile app, the Pocket Patient Advocate, designed to simplify complex medical information and empower patients.
