Stephen Elderkin is the Director of Environmental Sustainability at National Highways, where he leads the implementation of their Net Zero plan. With a background as a government economist and project director, he also co-founded Rebuilding Nature. He studied at Toulouse School of Economics and Oxfords Saïd Business School.
Outside of his formal role, Stephen is deeply engaged in environmental restoration, championing the creation of a Strategic Nature Network to connect ecosystems. He has a fully electrified home, drives an electric vehicle, and actively promotes biodiversity and climate resilience through his work and personal choices.
He is also an Honorary Professor in Practice at University College Londons Department of Science, Technology, Engineering and Public Policy.
