Tassos is the Director of Technical Services for Mineralogy at SGS Canada, where he advises customers on the technical aspects of mineralogy for various commodities. An expert in process mineralogy and critical metals, he holds a PhD from Queens University and is an Adjunct Professor at McGill University.
Originally from Greece, Tassos moved to Canada for his graduate studies. He enjoys collaborating with former colleagues and students on research, maintaining strong ties to both the Canadian and Greek geological communities. He is married and has one son.
Unique fact: While researching a deposit from his M.Sc. thesis, his team discovered sophcheite, marking only the fourth time the platinum-group mineral had been found in Canada.
