Tonja Brickhouse is a retired United States Air Force Colonel with a 25-year career in logistics, who now serves as the Director for the Department of Solid Waste & Environmental Program Management for the City of Tampa. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she applies extensive leadership experience to public administration and environmental services.
Deeply engaged in her community, Tonja is passionate about mentoring and supporting mothers and children, having served on the board of Dawning Family Services (formerly Alpha House). Her dedication was recognized when she was named a Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero for her significant charitable work and establishment of a scholarship fund.
She was the first African-American to serve as chief of the Air Forces air transportation division.
