Yanjun Li is an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, where he leads a lab focused on AI-driven drug discovery. His research combines deep generative modeling and geometric deep learning to design novel molecules and proteins. He holds a Ph. D. in Computer Science from UF and has prior industry experience at Calico and Baidu.
He is actively building his research team and is frequently hiring postdoctoral associates and PhD students passionate about applying AI to revolutionize drug discovery. He has also been recognized with a Mentorship Excellence Award from the University of Florida for his work with students.
He co-developed an AI framework called GatorAffinity, which leverages large-scale synthetic data to significantly improve the prediction of protein-ligand binding affinity.
