Yanyan Lou is a Professor and Medical Oncologist at Mayo Clinic in Florida, where she also serves as Vice Chair of Research and Associate Director of the Early Cancer Therapeutics Program. She specializes in thoracic cancers, including lung cancer and mesothelioma, focusing on immunotherapy and targeted therapies. She earned her medical degree from Henan Medical University.
She has stated that her personal experience with her grandfather, who passed away from lung cancer, was the initial inspiration for her career in cancer medicine. She is a decorated researcher, having received multiple career development and young investigator awards for her work.
Dr. Lou was the inaugural recipient of the Young Investigator Award supported by Women Who Conquer Cancer in 2014.
